Denileukin Diftitox-cxdl ( den-ih-LOO-kin DIFF-tih-toks ) (Lymphir®) What is this medication used for? Denileukin diftitox is an antitumor drug used in the treatment of certain types of lymphomas that are relapsed or non-responsive to treatment.
What does it look like? • Liquid How is it given?
Special instructions: • Call healthcare provider immediately for fever, chills, rash, difficulty breathing, or chest pain occur during the infusion. • When taking this medication, use caution in getting up. Move slowly from lying down to sitting and then to standing. • This medicine increases the risk of infection. Avoid crowds and people who are ill with cold or flu-like symptoms. Call a healthcare provider if a fever or any signs of infection develop. • Weight and blood albumin levels may be closely monitored during treatment. • Problems with vision, including loss of color vision, should be reported to a healthcare provider • This medication can cause severe birth defects., Effective contraception should be used during treatment and for at least 4 months after the last dose. • Do not breastfeed while taking this medication
• Into the vein (IV) or venous access device What are the common side effects? • Swelling of the hands or lower legs (peripheral edema) • Rash • Tiredness (fatigue) • Itching (pruritis) • Muscle pain • Back pain • Reactions during infusion, including fever, chills, itching, or hives • Nausea and vomiting • Lack of appetite What are the less common side effects? • Blood and proteins leak into the surrounding tissue (Capillary leak syndrome) • Liver damage • Difficulty seeing • Vision changes/loss of color vision
