Leucovorin ( LOO-koe-VOR-in ) (Wellcovorin®) What is this medication used for? It is a vitamin that works to decrease the harm methotrexate can cause normal cells.
What does it look like? • Tablet • Liquid How is it given? • By mouth (oral or po)
Special instructions: • Each dose of this medicine must be taken at exactly the same time. Your healthcare provider will determine when to start and stop taking this medicine. • If vomiting occurs within 30 minutes of taking this medicine by mouth, call your healthcare provider. • If this medicine is not taken as directed, high doses of methotrexate can damage healthy cells in the body.
